In the article, New York Times: ISIS hostages were tortured before beheadings it explains how ISIS tortures their hostages using different methods. Foley, a 40-year-old freelance journalist, was reporting for GlobalPost and Agence France Presse when he was abducted in 2012. He was the first Western hostage to be beheaded by ISIS on camera. He was subject to beatings, waterboarding and "mock executions."
Analysis
I feel that the ISIS are taking revenge against the US because the US tortured a lots of terrorists using the same ways just like waterboarding. For example, In the Movie Zero dark Thirty by Kathryn Bigelow they show how the US army tortured the captured terrorists. I aslo think that that they should come to an agreement which woukd lead to peace.

What is the Best way to stop this?
Should the US Start Negociating with the ISIS?
What is the main goal of The ISIS?
ISIS would never end up in a 'peaceful' agreement. I mean, they behead people on cameras. They don't seem like the most friendliest people. The only way of stopping this is to go head on and attack them. ISIS is a terrorist group, they work to bring terror.
ReplyDeleteI think ISIS wouldn't end the torturings and beheadings because we want to have peace with them, they are very violent people as we see when they have beheaded innocent people for who knows what reason. Trying to negotiate would just end with more violence. I think that we should try to attack them so we can show them who's in charge.
ReplyDeleteIn my opinion, the best way to stop the torturing is to issue a threat saying that if they continue torturing American captives, then we will use more force. If they don't stop torturing the captives, then we should make reclaiming them our number one priority. I don't think that we should negotiate with ISIS because we don't negotiate with terrorists and if we do, that gives them a small moral victory against us.
