“ Russian Fisherman Catches Fish With Human Teeth”

SUMMARY:
A Russian fisherman who was on a fishing trip on the Northern Dvina River is making headlines across the world, thanks to his unusual catch - a fish with a full set of teeth that resemble ours. 50 year old Aleks Korbov thought what he had caught was a common freshwater fish. It was when he had unhooked the dead animal, that he had noticed the human teeth. Never had seen anything like it he consulted some friends. None of them had ever seen anything like it. Still curious to know what type of fish it was Korbov contacted the Institute of Fisheries and Oceanography to seek their opinion.
They concluded that it was a Pacu which is a member of the Piranha family. The reason the Russians had never seen an exotic fish like this is because Pacus are tropical freshwater fish that usually come from the Amazon River in South America.

If I caught this fish I would probably eat it in hopes of becoming a fish man hybrid.

DeleteI thought this article was interesting and kind of weird because I would have never thought of a fish having human teeth.
ReplyDeleteI'm guessing that the fish got to Russia by someone bringing it all the way from South America up to Russia. It may have been the pet of somebody who released it in Russia or it could of been traveled in a boat from S. America to Russia. L
ReplyDeleteI think this is crazy because you normally don't see piranhas in Russia. I think the fish got there, when people who had visited South America let the fish go in the Dvina River.

ReplyDeleteAfter reading this article, I don't find fish with human teeth surprising since I have seen them before, but I do find the fact that a South American fish swam all the way to Russia really interesting! I think that this fish may have gotten lost in the currents or someone may have brought this fish to Russia but accidentally let it go in the river. If I'd caught this fish I would probably take a selfie with it and say,"smile".
ReplyDeleteWhen I read this article I was confused because Piranhas are supposed to have sharp teeth for eating other fish, but the Pacu's teeth are flat and not as harmful. If I had caught the fish, I definitely wouldn't eat it, I would have done the exact same as Aleks, ask a professional. The fish could have gotten to Russia migrating or by people who have brought it the fish there on accident, or on purpose.

ReplyDeleteI think this is nasty. I cannot believe that a Russian man found something so cray. This only proves that the world has so much more in it then we know! After reading this I feel that this could change the whole world as we know it, but only if this is a reliable as it seams. I feel like there will be a lot of controversy against and for this strange fish. We really don't know how long the fish has been there. Also why is it that we have never seen this before? Not one other person caught one? Almost seems sneaky if you ask me.
ReplyDeleteI doubt that the fish swam all the way from South America. That does not make sense, It was probably caught with other fish and then sent off to Russia. I think it is possible the fish started with normal teeth, but adapted to the Russian climate. I don't know much about fish though. I think it is cool that the fish had teeth that resembled human teeth.
ReplyDeleteI'm confused on why the fish would have human-like teeth. If it was in the piranha family then shouldn't it have sharp predator teeth? I'm also confused on how the fish had gotten all the way up to Russia and still managed to survive.
ReplyDeleteI think this article is kinda weird because a fish that was from south america came all the way to Russia is very weird. This means there may be some new animals in the world. The fish must have had a lot of energy to swim to the other side of the world. If I ever caught a fish like this I would probably keep it because it is very rare. All in all good job Hanna! :)
ReplyDeleteAfter reading the article, I am still a little confused, and somewhat fascinated. It is interesting how the fish has human teeth. I am confused, because how did the fish get there if it was originally from South America.
ReplyDeleteThe fact that the Piranha survived swimming from South America to Russia is impressive, yet confusing. I think scientists should further research how and why the fish traveled all that way. I think the fishermen should return the fish and observe where it travels to so they can understand what the piranha's destination was.

I hope that these questions can be answered in the near future. I believe, though, that this is an example of evolution and fish adapting to their new environments. But why does a fish need human-like teeth? Hopefully we can figure this out and answer the questions that are forming with this piece of news.
I was pretty confused because Russia and South America are basically on different sides of the planet. I think that this fish was in Russia because some Russian professor on aquatic creatures was doing research on fish in different climates and he may have wanted to see how long this tropical fish could survive in a climate completely different to where it's from.
