Summary
In “Damage Worse than thought In Japanese Earthquake” by The Miami Herald, A mountainous areas 5 kilometers (About 3 miles) from Nagano, was shaken by a 6.7 magnitude earthquake at 10 p.m. on Saturday. On Sunday morning the quake was reassessed as 6.2 magnitude. Japan’s Nuclear Regulation Authorities said they so no abnormalities at any of the three power plants. Analysis
I think it is very upsetting that this happened, but it could have been worse. No one was killed and that is very fortunate. I think the article was misnamed, since the situation is far better than I anticipated. It is also fortunate that there is not a chance of a tsunami or any nuclear meltdowns. Despite all those people who lost their houses the situation was far less horrible than it could have been.

Questions
  1. Do you think the situation is bad?
  2. How does it compare to other earthquakes?
  3. Do you think there is mare that can be done to help?
