Camera Angles: Reading Between the Lines
Directors can use different types of camera angles to hint things to our brains without us even noticing!

For this blogpost I decided to share something about movies that I learned in english class. I learned that camera angles help directors make big changes to movies without us even realizing! Here are some familiar camera angles that you probably saw before and didn’t think much of, but truly they meant a lot.

Low Angle:
This angle is used to show power by creating the illusion that people or object is larger than life and they tower over another person or us (the camera).

High Angle:
This Angle is used in order to display weakness of a certain character by portraying them lower or smaller than they normally are, giving something else in the image power.

Vertical Angle:

This angle is used to disorient the audience by allowing us to view what unfolds from an unnatural viewpoint.

I think it is amazing how much thought is put into the angles and viewpoints of a movie. It fascinates me how something as simple as filming with a camera is actually far more complex than the average person would realize.
