I seek to find the answer to the question, how does human interaction between animals effect how we live?
I've always been curious as to why animals are used for experimentation and what can be the effects of this enforcement. I found many answers on BBC (British Broadcasting Corporation), who talked about what animal experimentation is and the effects the experiments provide.
1) Animal testings are very common. These kinds of experiments are usually used for testing new kinds of medicine or if new products inquire safety to human production. What many scientists do not realize, while doing so, is that these animals can be left in physical pain and can possibly lead to death. This is important information to think about, considering making animals suffering is usually considered "morally wrong". If it is wrong, then why do scientists consider pursuing experimentation further?
2) What many people do not know is that scientists are testing drugs on animals not to see if humans can be cured by the drug, "they cannot do that. Instead, they are used to help decide whether a particular drug should be tested on people". This can lead to animals being tested on harmful and potentially dangerous drugs that can lead the animal to death. This is, again, morally wrong in a sense because the animals are being tested on drugs that scientists know have a large possibility in causing death.
3) In the argument of scientists, they believe that if animals testings are put to an end, then humans lose the ability to test new drugs, and possibly use humans for all future testings. This then means that humans would have a large probability in being tested on harsh and potentially dangerous drugs that can cause many atrocities, including death. But what the scientists do not realize is that there are other possible solutions to the whole animals testing debate anyway. One example includes using computer models to represent the chemicals in the drugs and how the chemicals will effect the human body. Others include using cell cultures, epidemiological studies, and even just improving their experimentation conditions and tasks. As it has been shown, there are many ways animal testing can be prevented, but scientists only seem to focus on the drug rather than the danger and death they are causing.
As it has been told, animals have a potential threat with scientists. Scientists have a hard time seeing past the wrongs they are provided to the animals, and all they seem to care about is testing drugs. Yes, it is good to make sure humans are healthy and can be cured, but is it really worth putting other living creature's lives in danger?
FUTURE RESEARCH: There are many wrongs in human society towards animals and how they live, but are there any goods humans may provide like pets or zoos?
