It’s sometimes hard to configure how long technology has been around or how when it got popular. The widespread use of electricity started in the early 1900’s, since then it has become one of the main focuses for the future. This was basically the beginning of widespread communication also, as the use of electricity started becoming normal, so did many other conveniences. Electricity helped introduce the public to a new way of life, many others sought out to take advantage out of the widespread use of it. In my opinion we have advanced more in a hundred years compared to the thousands of years we have been on earth. We were able to go to the moon, stream it to the public, and decades later we are able to take seconds to interact with someone thousands of miles away. People have adapted to a life style full of convenience made possible with the use of electricity and faster communication.

The graph above shows in detail the many appliances made possible through technology. People were introduced into a new era of convenience. Radio soon took off at about 1920 which allowed others to tune into a new form of entertainment. In the 1960’s color TV was made possible which was soon brought to the use of the VCR in the 1970’s and soon after computers. Then in the 1990’s the internet and cellphones gained popularity which was very fastly followed by popular use rather than the spread of other appliances like telephones and cars. As you can see throughout just one hundred years we were able to revolutionize communication, people were brought together with the use of TV’s and radios, and just sixty years later all of this advanced with the use of cellphones and internet.
What predictions do experts make about how technology will advance in the near future?
