The geographic themes of movement and interactions of humans with the environment prove that geography is destiny in West Africa because
The Movement theme of geography shows that geography is destiny. According to USA Today, more than 1,500 people in West Africa have died from Ebola. I think that if the people knew that there would be a disease, they would move somewhere else to live because the authors William Foege, James Mason and David Satcher said that the spread of Ebola not only carries human costs but also great economic costs as well. Therefore, this shows that geography (movement) is Destiny.
The Interaction of Humans with the environment shows that geography is destiny. According to The New York Times, experts are using existing drugs that worked against other diseases. However, experts are scared that a drug might make the patient feel worse. Experts are also worried that the drug might work on the first day and it might also work on the second day, but on the 7th day, the drug might make the patient feel worse. Therefor, this shows that geography (interactions of humans with the environment) is Destiny.
I agree that experts fear that the drugs that they develop will not aid the virus. At the same time we must be ready to take a small risk to push our drugs forward. Without any risks we will not be able to aid the containment of the virus. We need to ensure that the final drug will in fact, do its job. I'm sure that we are also struggling with finding out how to administer the drug to the citizens once it is completed.
