Geography, Destiny or Not ? Ebola Article

The geographic themes of Location and Interaction of Humans with the Environment prove that geography is destiny because of how Ebola is effecting the Western African region.
The region theme of geography shows that people living in the West African countries of Liberia, Guinea, Nigeria, and Sierra Leone are more exposed to Ebola, than people living in the United States of America. According to “Obama Says 'Military Assets' Needed for Ebola Health-Care Surge” by the Africa News Service, the Ebola outbreak in West Africa is worst in the countries of Liberia and Sierra Leone. Therefore, this proves that people in West Africa have the worst chance of surviving the Ebola outbreak. That means that geography is destiny, because people in the West African countries are more likely to get Ebola.

The Interaction of Humans with the Environment theme of geography shows that the West African countries do not have the proper buildings, such as hospitals and isolation units, and cannot survive without them. According to “Ebola-CDC Director Rallies Health Workers” by CNN wire, the countries of Liberia, Nigeria, Sierra Leone, and Guinea have not adapted to or changed their environment enough to survive much longer. Therefore, this demonstrates that West Africa is not prepared to win the fight against the Ebola virus. Which shows that people living in West Africa could easily die from the Ebola virus.

  1. I liked that you used lots of quotes said by people who are trying to help people with the Ebola virus. Do you think that America should get more involved and help the people with it more?
