Ebola Planning to be the Future of Africans?
The two themes, movement and interaction of humans with the environment, show that in Western Africa, geography is destiny because they are changing the lives of many people who are in the countries affected by Ebola.
Movement shows how Ebola is spreading throughout different countries. According to article “Ebola workers demand more protection; Time running out to contain virus that has killed 1,900, health officials warn.”, two Americans who were in Liberia caught the Ebola disease and were moved to Atlanta to be treated on. This means that instead of studying or working in Africa like they probably lived for, they were sent back to the U.S. because they caught a deadly disease that they were not planning on catching. The article also talks about how the Ebola is spreading (moving) throughout the countries. Also, “Why U.S. rejected Nigeria’s request for ZMapp” explains that cargo planes are limited going back and forth from Africa due to disease-catching. That includes any sort of cargo that is needed (food, new uniforms for nurses/doctors, etc.). They are still moving from place to place, still have that risk of catching the disease, but they are limiting it so that it is less likely. To sum up, this proves that getting near the West African area is very difficult because this disease is so easy to catch. Two American doctors caught the disease and are currently in critical condition, and it’s not the best idea for them to be moved to a place that hasn’t caught the disease. Because they were moved from Africa to Atlanta, the U.S. has a higher chance of catching the Ebola disease.

I agree with your statement about the two doctors sent to Atlanta because they caught Ebola. That is not right from the U.S. side to do like that; if they are giving place for two doctors, why don't they build some hospitals in West Africa. Actually National Health Association must have addressed all the money they had to making a cure for Ebola virus. My question is: What would you consider a good strategy to attack Ebola.
ReplyDeleteFor now, I believe that we should continue with our study of the Ebola virus and continue to find ways to prevent the spreading or even slow it down. The best we can do now is continue to treat the patients in Africa and see what lies ahead in the future.
