Ourselves or Others

Eating meat may be savory and delicious, but is it really the choice to go? Are you really willing to kill an animal in order to get that juicy piece of meat?

I seek to find the answer to the question, how does human interaction between animals effect how we live?

I've searched and found many great details to animal consumption. D. Moskovitz wrote a section in The Atlas Society about vegetarianism and how animals and humans are effected. He provides information on animals rights, what vegetarianism is and how it effects humans and animals.

1) Vegetarians believe that animals are harmed when production is established. What this means is that humans are blocking the animal's freedom from living and killing them no matter what. In a more clear picture, vegetarians believe animals deserve freedom, not human consumption. I believe this is important because this explains that many people consume meat and meat products, meaning the animals lives are killed in order for humans to grow.

2) Humans depend on themselves to earn food, trade, clothing, and anything else needed for survive. One of which includes animals. Clothing can be made from animals, though. Vegetarians believe that animals deserve a right to live and be free, that includes their skin/fur. This view is important because it shows that animals are not just hunted for food. They are hunted for clothing and their teeth and anything that can help humans achieve higher standards. In other terms, humans kill animal's lives just for their own needs.

3) Leaning back to freedom, in order for humans to gain resources from other humans, no physical force is needed to get what they need. Whereas, when needed resources from animals (no matter what the need), force is used. This proves that humans are willing to forcefully kill animals no matter the circumstance. This leads back to effecting the lives of animals with force.

4) Vegetarianism is a choice. People choose whether or not they want to eat meat that is necessary for their health or save the animals and change the way they diet. This proves that whether or not people are vegetarians, animals and humans are effected. If someone becomes vegetarian, then they must change they way they eat and diet, changing how they could live, potentially. But going back, if you choose to eat meat, you are killing animals and destroying life.

FUTURE RESEARCH: What about experimenting with animals? Is it okay for them to be tested on, or is it fatal to their survival?
