Germany in World War One

Have you ever played the game Risk? Becuase, Germany used tactics in the beginning of World War I that are a like the game.
According to History.com, Germany had caused a lot of issues in Europe.

1.  How did Germany stir up problems in Europe?
Germany was so prepared for a war to break out. They had many different ideas, one of which is called the Schlieffen Plan. The Schlieffen plan was made for quick decisions that would destroy the enemies. Germany, thinking they had no other choice,  aimed to use this plan, and invade France. Germany was in need of a plan fast, because if they did not act quick Russia would be mobilized and ready to fight against them. However, acting quick did not work in their favor, and German forces had to take a detour into Belgium. Germany was expecting to be able to walk right through, but Belgium fought against them, making Germany’s job a lot more complicated.

2. Why did no one try to stop German forces?
No one tried to stop Germany, because none of the other countries wanted a war to break out. Germany was not ready for it either,  and despite that Germany declared war on France, on August 3rd, 1914. Germany was expecting it to be a quick war, but France and its allies were a lot more prepared than the Germans thought.

3. What made Germany so successful?
Germany was going strong and fighting well the first few battles. This was because of trench warfare. However, trench warfare was very nasty, the trenches had mice, bugs, muddy, and were often filled with water to point where the soldiers could easily drowned. Germany’s luck ran out, and they began to have a hard time continuing the war that they had started.

4. How did Germany fall out of power?
In the beginning of 1915, Germany and its people started to realize that the war was turning against them. Many of Germany’s people lost hope and they stopped supporting the war. By the end of 1918, Germany was losing its allies, and the ones that were loyal had collapsed, like Bulgaria. Germany ended up losing and had to pay for the repairs of the war expenses, but Germany did show the world that they could almost defeat nearly every country in Europe

In future research, I am going to see how Germany came back form World War One and how they contributed to World War Two.
