The internet, cellphones, and security cameras are three ways that technology has made the world today safer. Cell Phones have made reaching safety quicker, easier and more efficient. The internet has made the world safer by creating a global communication tool where the word of crisis can get out, and you can use the internet to gain support for a
cause. Security Cameras have made the world safer by deterring crime and helping catch criminals who are suspects. All of these things are instrumental in our safety today and are all due to technology.
How has new technology made the process reaching safety shorter?
Before the invention of more advanced cell- phones. You either had to scream or get to a payphone if you were in trouble. With cellphones, the process of reaching help is much shorter. Friends, family, or authorities are one click away. This is one way technology has made the world safer because it has shortened the time people are in danger in certain situation. It has allowed police to act quick enough to catch a criminal, and given firefighters enough time to react and stop a fire. Not only cell phones are doing all the work, in addition, security and phone cameras have slowed down criminal activity due to fear of being caught in the act of committing a crime.
Other than practical safety reasons how has technology made the world smarter/safer?
Things like X-Rays, Biotechnology, and DNA Fingerprinting are some ways that the world is much smarter than before, and in turn makes us safer. Due to DNA Fingerprinting, there are tons of criminals off the streets that would still be out if it weren't for their identification through databases and the scientific processes that go with DNA fingerprinting. I think that all of the new advances in science in technology have been very beneficial to our society. The innovations of people in such categories as medical technology have snowballed into some of the coolest technology in the world, every day new stuff is being created that makes our world a better place to live.
